7 days in Bhutan Itinerary

  • Day 01 Arrive in Bhutan:

    Arrive in Paro International Airport where you will be met at the airport by our representative and escorted to your hotel.

  • Day 02 Paro sightseeing tour then drive to Thimpu:

    Today you will explore the city of Paro and its historical sights including: DrugyalDzong, a Bhutanese farmhouse, Ta-Dzong (National Museum), and ParoRinchen Pong Dzong.

    In the evening you will drive to Thimpu, where you will spend the night.

    - Paro to Thimpu: approx. 3 hours drive.

  • Day 03 Thimphu:

    In Thimphu, Bhutan’s capital city, you will visit Memorial Chorten, the National Library and Art School, Handicrafts Emporium and SimtokhaDzong. 

  • Day 04 Drive to Punakha/Wangdiphodrang (77 km):

    After an early breakfast, drive to Punakha, the former capital city of Bhutan, and Wangdi. On the way you will stop at Dochula for a hot cup of tea/coffee and to see one of the most spectacular views of the Eastern Himalayan Mountain range.The day includes visiting the PunakhaDzong, a fortress that lies between two rivers, WangdiphodrangDzong, perched on a hill between two rivers.

    - Thimphu to Punakha: Approx 2.5 hours. | 77km

  • Day 05 DriveKhotokha then return to Thimpu:

    In the morning after breakfast, you will drive to Chuzomsa,16 km from the Punakha Valley. From Chuzomsa, travel by roadway to Khotokha. Here, we will visit the Drajanchu Monastery, which is one of the most sacred and important monasteries in the country. There are about six other important Lhakhangs (monasteries) in the region. The landscape is breathtaking. You will enjoy a picnic lunch at Khotokha and return to Thimphu. In the evening, you will visit Thimphu market.

  • Day 06 Thimphu toParo, Tiger’s Nest:

    In the morning after breakfast, you will start your return to Paro to take a short trek to the Taktsang Monastery (10 km) from Paro’s centre. The name Taktsang means “Tiger’s Nest.” The monastery is perched on a rocky ledge and overlooks the Paro Valley. Enjoy a picnic Lunch at Taktsang. The round trip hike takes about 4 hrs. In the evening, take your time to stroll in Paro.

    - Paro to Tiger’s Nest: approx. 4-5 hours | 10km.

  • Day 07 Departure:

    You will be transported to Paro International Airport for your next flight.
